Dr. Rob Worley is an accomplished scholar, educator, and intercultural communication specialist with over three decades of experience in academic writing, linguistics, and theological education. He currently serves as the Director of the Language Resource and Writing Center at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, where he has been a central figure since 1992. In this capacity, Dr. Worley has guided generations of master’s and doctoral students, especially those from international and multilingual backgrounds, in developing academic writing, research, and critical thinking skills tailored to theological and intercultural contexts.
At McCormick, he oversaw universal writing assessments for incoming MA and PhD students, taught academic research and writing, and served as a thesis and dissertation advisor. His role extended beyond student mentorship; he also edited PhD dissertations for content and style, and collaborated as a writing consultant for faculty colleagues, helping refine publications for scholarly dissemination. His long-standing leadership at McCormick reflects a rare combination of pedagogical expertise, editorial precision, and cultural sensitivity.
Dr. Worley’s educational background bridges linguistics, applied communication, and peace studies. He earned a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Northeastern Illinois University (1989–1991), and pursued further graduate studies at Macalester College, where he completed a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics (1991). His undergraduate studies at Macalester College (1983–1985) focused on Peace Studies and Journalism, combining analytical and communicative disciplines that continue to inform his pedagogy. He also undertook specialized study in Arabic Language and Literature at The American University in Cairo (1986), demonstrating a deep intercultural commitment that later shaped his approach to theological and linguistic education.
Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Worley has developed and demonstrated core competencies in intercultural communication, collaborative leadership, academic writing, problem-solving, and university teaching. His multilingual awareness and sensitivity to cultural diversity have made him an invaluable mentor to students from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East—particularly those pursuing theological education in English as a second or third language.
Known for his gentle, mentoring approach and scholarly rigor, Dr. Worley has been instrumental in helping students bridge linguistic, cultural, and academic gaps, empowering them to express their theological insights with clarity and confidence. His decades of contribution to McCormick Theological Seminary have significantly shaped the institution’s commitment to inclusive, intercultural theological education.

Our vision
We want to live in a world where people can buy homes that match their needs rather than having to find a compromise and settle on the second-best option. That's why we take a lot of time and care in getting to know our clients from the moment they reach out to us and ask for our help.
Our team
Our strength lies in our individuality. Set up by Esther Bryce, the team strives to bring in the best talent in various fields, from architecture to interior design and sales.
